What is social media? It encompasses all online community hubs, from blogs, social networks like Facebook and MySpace, audio and video podcasts and microblogging tools like Twitter to online PR tracking tools which can become a window into the honest perception of a company’s brand.

However, the most important element of social media is your community. Whether it's made up of dozens, hundreds, thousands or millions of users, social media provides you with an opportunity to engage with them.
